Understanding New Article Orders
A complete guide to placing your first — or next — article order on SearchEye. Learn what placement types are available, what to submit, and exactly what happens from the moment you place your order to the moment your link goes live.
What is a new article placement?
A new article placement is a piece of content — written specifically for the occasion — that is published on a third-party publisher's website and includes a link back to your site. The article is topically relevant to your niche and is written to fit naturally on the publisher's site.
Unlike an existing article placement where SearchEye edits content that's already live, a new article placement creates something from scratch — giving you more control over the topic, angle, and how your brand is presented.
💡 New vs. existing article placements:
Not sure which is right for you? New article placements give you full content control and are great for topical authority and brand storytelling. Existing article placements are faster and can tap into content already being cited by AI tools. See the comparison table further down in this article.
How SearchEye supports your content strategy
SearchEye connects brands and agencies directly with a vetted network of publishers across hundreds of niches. Instead of managing outreach and negotiations manually, you place your order through the platform, and SearchEye coordinates everything end-to-end.
Publisher network — browse and filter sites by niche, DR, traffic, price, and turnaround before ordering
Managed content — SearchEye handles writing and placement coordination so you don't have to
Order tracking — monitor every order's status in real time from your SearchEye dashboard
Live link delivery — receive the published URL and verify your link is live once the article goes up
✅ For agencies:
SearchEye supports white-label ordering. You manage everything on your clients' behalf and report results however you prefer — your clients don't need to interact with the platform directly.
Placement types: choosing the right format
When placing a new article order, you'll select a placement type that determines the format of your content and how your brand is represented. Each type serves a different strategic purpose.
🔗 Link
A contextual link to a relevant page on your site is included within a new article published on the partner site. The link appears naturally within the article body.
Goal: SEO / DA building | Best for: all brands | Effort: Low
💬 Expert Quote
A quote from someone at your brand — a founder, executive, or subject matter expert — is embedded within the article. This positions your team as a credible industry voice alongside a brand mention and link.
Goal: credibility + SEO | Best for: thought leadership | Effort: medium
📣 Brand Mention
A strategic, contextual reference to your brand is woven into the article — reinforcing your brand name in relevant editorial content alongside a link back to your site.
Goal: brand awareness + SEO | Best for: brand building | Effort: low
🎙️ Interview
An in-depth Q&A-style article where a representative from your brand shares insights or expertise on a relevant topic. Published on the partner site, this format puts your brand's voice front and center.
Goal: thought leadership + PR | Best for: founders, executives | Effort: high
📰 Press Release
A formal announcement about your company — a product launch, funding round, partnership, or milestone — written in standard press release format and distributed to relevant media and publisher sites.
Goal: PR + media coverage | Best for: announcements, launches | Effort: medium
📄 Brand Feature
A comprehensive article focused entirely on your company — your story, products, services, or achievements. The highest-visibility placement type, written about your brand as the central subject.
Goal: brand authority + PR | Best for: brand storytelling | Effort: high
📌 Not sure which type to pick?
Start with a Link or Brand Mention if your primary goal is SEO. Choose Expert Quote or Interview to build thought leadership. Press Release and Brand Feature are best for PR and brand authority. See our full Placement Types guide for a detailed breakdown.
What you need to place an order
Required for all placement types:
Target URL — the page on your site you want the link to point to
Anchor text — the clickable text the link will appear as (e.g. "best project management software")
Placement type — the format you're ordering
Publisher selection — the site from the marketplace you'd like to be placed on
Topic or article direction — a working title or topic for the article
Additional requirements by placement type:
Placement type | What else you'll need to provide |
|---|---|
Expert Quote | The quote text and name/title of the person being quoted |
Interview | Availability and responses to interview questions (coordinated by SearchEye) |
Press Release | Key announcement details or a draft press release |
Brand Feature | Brand overview, key messages, products/services to highlight |
Optional but recommended:
Brand guidelines, tone notes, or competitor exclusions
Secondary anchor text options in case the primary isn't possible
Pre-written article if supplying your own content
Notes on what the article should or should not mention
⚠️ Before you submit: double-check that your target URL is live and accessible. Orders submitted with broken or redirecting URLs may cause delays while we reach out to clarify.
What happens after you submit
Order received and reviewed
SearchEye's operations team picks up your order and reviews the details for completeness. If anything is missing or unclear, you'll be contacted before work begins.
Content is written
If SearchEye is writing the article, our editorial team drafts the content based on your order details, placement type, and any brand guidelines provided. All content passes through quality review — including fact-checking — before being submitted to the publisher.
Submitted to the publisher
The article is submitted to the publisher you selected. Publishers have their own review and scheduling process, which can affect timing — especially for Interview and Brand Feature placements.
Article goes live
The publisher publishes the article on their site. Your order status in the dashboard updates to reflect this.
Live link delivered
SearchEye confirms the article is live and your link is correctly placed, then delivers the published URL to your dashboard. You'll receive a notification when your order is complete.
What to expect from the published article
The article will be topically relevant to both your niche and the publisher's site
Your link will appear naturally within the article body — not in a sidebar, footer, or author bio
The article will meet the publisher's minimum word count (typically 500–1,000+ words depending on placement type)
The article is permanent — publishers in our network commit to keeping placements live
You'll receive the exact published URL so you can verify the link yourself
For Expert Quote and Interview placements, your brand will be referenced by name with the correct attribution
✅ Link permanence
If a link goes down after publication, contact our support team. We'll investigate and work to resolve it with the publisher or arrange a replacement at no extra charge.
New article vs. existing article placements
Not sure whether to order a new article or an existing article placement? Here's how they compare:
Feature | New article | Existing article |
|---|---|---|
Content | Written from scratch | Edited into a published article |
Turnaround | 7–14 business days | 3–10 business days |
Content control | Full topic and content direction | Limited to the edited section |
SEO authority | Builds authority over time | Inherits existing article authority |
LLM visibility | Depends on article gaining traction | High — article may already be cited by AI |
Placement types | All 6 types available | Link and Brand Mention |
Best for | Brand storytelling, topical authority, PR | Fast wins, LLM campaigns, DR building |
🤖 LLM visibility tip
If getting your brand cited in AI tools like ChatGPT is a priority, consider pairing new article placements with existing article placements targeting content already being surfaced in LLM responses for your keywords.
Frequently asked questions
Can I request a specific article topic or title?
Yes. You can provide a working title or topic direction when placing your order. Our editorial agent will use it as a guide, though the final title may be adjusted slightly to fit the publisher's site naturally.
Can I supply my own content instead of having SearchEye write it?
Yes. You can submit a pre-written article during the order process. Our team will review it for quality and publisher guidelines before submission.
Do all publishers support every placement type?
No. Each publisher specifies which placement types they accept. You'll only be able to select placement types that your chosen publisher supports when placing your order.
What if the publisher rejects my article?
If a publisher declines a submission, SearchEye will assist in revising and resubmitting or find an alternative publisher of equivalent quality.
