How to Decline a Request or Provide Feedback

This guide walks you through how to decline collaboration requests or provide feedback on pitches and submitted content on-platform.


Declining a Collaboration Request

  1. Go to Publisher Orders.

  2. Navigate to the Action Required tab.

  3. Click on View Order Details.

  4. Click on the Provide Feedback button, located on the left side of the Pre-Approve Order button.

  5. A Provide Feedback pop-up will appear:

    • Use the dropdown menu to select your reason for declining.

    • Add any additional context or information in the text box.

  6. Click Submit Feedback to finalize your response.


Reviewing and Providing Feedback on Content

  1. Go to Publisher Orders.

  2. Navigate to the Action Required tab.

  3. Click on View Order Details.

  4. Click on the Approve/Provide Feedback button.

  5. A Review Content pop-up will appear:

    • Click Yes, looks great! to approve the content.

    • Click No, needs work to request revisions and provide specific feedback in the text box.

  6. Click Submit to finalize your feedback.


Sending Feedback on a Publisher Article Link

  1. Go to Publisher Orders.

  2. Navigate to the Action Required tab.

  3. Click on View Order Details.

  4. Click on the Approve/Provide Feedback button.

  5. You will be redirected to the content file where you can provide feedback directly in the comments section.


Declining a Pitch for Review

  1. Go to Publisher Orders.

  2. Navigate to the Action Required tab.

  3. Click on View Order Details.

  4. Click on the Provide Feedback button.

  5. A Provide Feedback pop-up will appear:

    • Select a reason from the dropdown menu.

    • Input any additional context or information in the text box.

  6. Click Submit Feedback to finalize your response.


Note: The steps for providing feedback on content and submitting publisher article links remain the same for new article requests.


Navigating Your Dashboard

  • The Publisher Management section allows access to outstanding requests and article submissions.

  • The Action Required tab shows all pending actions.

  • Available actions:

    • Pre-Approve or Reject a Collaboration Request

    • Approve or Reject a Pitch Request

    • Approve or Provide Feedback on Content

    • Provide the Live Published Article Link


Statuses and What They Mean

In Progress

  • Content creation is ongoing.

  • Awaiting approvals from the brand.

  • No action required from your end.

Published

  • Collaboration is complete.

  • No further action needed.

Canceled

  • Orders that were canceled due to rejection or brand withdrawal.

  • No further action needed.


Order Cancellations

In some cases, orders may need to be canceled due to various reasons related to website eligibility, content requirements, or unforeseen circumstances. Below are common reasons why an order might be declined, along with brief explanations.

Website Fails to Meet Minimum DR and Traffic Standards

Your domain doesn't currently meet the specific criteria set by the marketplace.

The Target Brand Keyword and URL Isn't Relevant to the Publication

Your target keyword and page do not align with the publication’s niche or content focus.

The Content Links to a Competitor

If the content includes links (or brand mentions) to direct competitors, the order may be canceled.

The Content Requires a "Sponsored" Tag

Some brands reject orders when publishers require content to be labeled as "sponsored."

The Link is Tagged "Nofollow" OR Not Indexed

Some brands require "do follow" links for SEO purposes, and nofollow links may not be accepted.

The Link Comes From a Private Blog Network or a Community Site

Links from private blog networks (PBNs) or community-driven sites are generally not accepted.

The Brand's Website's Spam Score is Too High

Publishers may reject a website if its "spam score" exceeds an acceptable threshold.

The Website Can't Be Accessed (Geo-Restricted / Down / Not Loading)

If a website is inaccessible due to location restrictions, downtime, or loading issues, the order may be canceled.

The Brand's Niche is Not Relevant to the Publication

If the brand’s industry or topic does not align with the publisher’s audience, the order may not be fulfilled.

Past Due Date

Timing is critical. If content is submitted after the agreed deadline, cancellation may be necessary.

We Can't Reach the Website Anymore (The Publisher is Too Slow or Unresponsive)

Brands value timely execution. If the publisher is unresponsive, the order may be canceled.

The Publisher Increased the Price

If a publisher raises their pricing unexpectedly, it may affect order viability.

Change of Mind

Either party—client or publisher—might change their mind about the collaboration before completion.

The Link Was Removed Without Explanation

If a publisher removes an already placed link without notice, the order may be canceled.

The Publication Doesn't / No Longer Accept Guest Posts

Some sites have policies against guest posts and may decline orders accordingly.

The Brand Page URL Type Doesn't Meet Publication Requirements

If the linked page does not match publication guidelines (e.g., homepages vs. deep pages), the order may be rejected.

The Content / Brand Page is Too Promotional

Content that appears overly promotional may not be accepted by the publisher.

The Publication Doesn't / No Longer Accept Link Insert Requests

Some publishers do not accept link insertions or have stopped offering the service.

We Can't Link to Pages Planned for Promotion

Some publishers have policies against linking to pages that will be used in future promotional campaigns.
